The EVAL01-Photon-R is a UHF battery-free RF field detector. The device features an ASMT-SGB5-NW703 LED from Avago Technologies with a viewing angle of 120 degrees.

The tag harvests energy from UHF radio frequency fields and flashes its LED depending on the energy harvested. No custom hardware or custom commands are required.

The EVAL01-Photon-R is ideal for visual identification of RF fields. The battery-free LED device lights up as soon as there is a field with enough strength in the area. It works for applications such as RFID reader commissioning or maintenance as the LED will tell you whether the RFID antenna is transmitting or not and at which level.
